OCTOBER AT NOVA
NOVA followed Markie and her husband on their Pilgrimage for Peace on the Camino to Santiago. NOVA raised funds for the annual project, Little Friends for Peace. Pledges were made for each km or mi walked and donations were made online and checks were received. They walked 789km and arrived in Santiago on October 31st.
The Muslim Women's Coalition hosted an event to raise awareness of Domestic Violence in October. A few NOVA women attended at the home of Uzma Farooq, It was an interactive event on the Purple Hijab Day and Tea Time Talk.
Uzma wrote on Facebook: "If you didn't wear a hijab you could wear a scarf and our friends from NOVA certainly supported us on that"
